Every keen movement needs an Anthem – an amazing song that sparks comradery, joy, and excitement. I'thousand going to take it upon myself to declare the Anthem of the fiscal independence move – firstly because I know of a cracking song that'south a perfect fit and secondly because no one else did it yet (that I know of!).
The Canticle of Financial Independence
I know you are all dying to know what song I've unilaterally decided should exist the Anthem of Fiscal Independence. That song is…
*Drumroll!!!*
The Anthem by Skillful Charlotte!
Why the Anthem?
Ok, why is "the Anthem" the anthem of financial independence? Well first, information technology's already chosen "the Canticle". You can't become more apt than that. But second, and more importantly, the song actually does embody the spirit of the fiscal independence movement. It's all well-nigh living life on your ain terms and opting out of the system. Isn't that exactly what nosotros are doing?
The Lyrics
The Organization Sucks
Every lyric of Good Charlotte'due south the Canticle is about living the way you desire to live. The first verse implies that the life social club dictates for us isn't all that it's croaky up to be. They stress the monotony of modern lodge with their outset few lyrics:
"It's a new twenty-four hours, merely it all feels old, it'due south a proficient life, that's what I'm told, but every 24-hour interval it all just feels the same"
He goes on to express that he hated loftier school and felt stuck while he was there. I don't necessarily concord with his accept hither, because I recollect schooling is important, simply I practice agree that they organisation we have in place doesn't piece of work for everyone. We should accept more opportunities for kids who don't do well in traditional educational environments, and people should have more options than only school – work – die.
Opting Out
The second poetry is just as fun and even more in line with the tenants of the fiscal independence movement. It's all virtually opting out of the life that society dictates, and living life the way y'all want.
"Go to college, or university, get a real chore, that'south what they say to me. Only I could never live the way they want"
Ditching our existent jobs and not living the fashion they want is the entire indicate of the financial independence movement! At to the lowest degree information technology is to me. I don't want to be stuck in a "real chore" until I'm 65, then live the rest of my life too sometime to practise anything. That's non a life to me. And I recollect a lot of united states are interested in financial independence for that very reason!
"I'chiliad gonna get by, and just do my fourth dimension, out of footstep while they all get in line. I'm just a pocket-sized glitch so pay no mind"
Although I think the movement is gaining traction, I don't call up we are in line with the majority. Nosotros are all minor glitches in the giant cog of work-retire-die. A lot of people remember the whole thought of financial independence is ridiculous and unachievable. So they arrive line with capitalistic culture and materialism. Pay no mind to those of us looking for something dissimilar – outside of reading our blogs of course!
I Don't Want to exist Similar You lot!
The chorus of the vocal definitely embodies how I experience about the arrangement.
"I don't always want to be like you lot, I don't desire to exercise the things you exercise, I'chiliad never going to be part of the crowd, 'cause I don't e'er want to exist you"
I don't want any part in information technology! Who wants to be like the boilerplate person living a miserable life because they are doing what club told usa nosotros need to exercise? Not me!
Runners Upwardly
It was and so tough to pick an Anthem of fiscal independence! There are quite a few songs out in that location that embody the spirit of the motion. The two closest runners up for me were "Festival Song" by Good Charlotte (I swear they aren't even my favorite band!) and "The Nights" by Avicii.
Festival Song
I was super close to naming this blog "I don't desire your 9 to five" after Festival Song. Lyrically, this song does just as good of a job at embracing living life on your own terms equally "The Canticle".
"I don't want your boring life, and I don't want your 9 to 5, or anyone to tell me how to live my life"
I hateful, that really does embody a huge office of financial independence, doesn't it? Although the lyrics are bang-up, I chose "The Anthem" instead considering information technology'due south much more than upbeat, and I think the anthem of fiscal independence should make you lot want to get up and dance. It should pump you up! Festival song is slap-up, only information technology's also whiney to brand a good canticle.
The Nights
How many of united states are pursing fiscal independence so that nosotros tin alive boggling lives? I retrieve that's a huge goal for most of us! "The Nights" by Avicii, to me, is all virtually living an amazing life.
"Someday, we'll leave this world backside, so live a life nosotros will remember"
Although I practise honey the theme of living an extraordinary life that this song embodies, there is nothing in the song that speaks to me about opting out of what society expects. You tin can live the type of life Avicii extols quite easily by spending all of your coin. None of us are into that. Therefore, I don't think it qualifies every bit the anthem of fiscal independence.
What do you Think Should be the Canticle of Financial Independence?
I recall I made a great case for the Anthem, but I'd love to hear your thoughts! What song gets you lot pumped up almost your decision to seek financial independence? What song can we all band effectually and call the true anthem of our motility?
